“Saving Savvy”: The Chapter Readers Keep Coming Back To
Chapter 9, “Saving Savvy,” is all about helping readers to save more effectively, spend more intentionally and, most importantly, put good financial habits into practice.

Hey, it’s Dave Chilton, the Wealthy Barber, back in blue. This is actually an important video. It’s a very short one, but it’s really interesting for our team to get all the feedback from the people who have read the updated version of the book, the people who’ve listened to the audiobook version. And of course, “Pay Yourself First,” as it did all those years ago when the original came out, has resonated and helped a lot of people, and the talking about RRSPs versus TFSAs, index funds, all of it.
I’m thrilled with the feedback. But, the chapter that’s garnered the most positive feedback is not the one we expected. It’s Chapter Nine: “Saving Savvy,” where I looked at all the different things I’ve learned over the years, helping people, watching people, seeing what they do wrong, seeing what they’ve done right, and put it all down in one chapter.
Worked very hard to get the flow right, the examples right, set up the context, all of it. Holy smokes, we never could have imagined how well it’s gone over. No exaggeration, we’ve had hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people reach out to us saying that chapter is making a gigantic difference in their lives. That they’re incorporating one, two, three, four of the suggestions already and saving a lot more effectively and interestingly, spending a lot more effectively, too.
Make sure if you have a copy of “The Wealthy Barber,” you read Chapter Nine carefully, you re-read it. If you don’t have a copy of “The Wealthy Barber,” what is wrong with you? Get out and get one. But again, that chapter, I think just something about its structure seems to be making people take action. It’s not just that they’re reading the material, they may even know some of the tips, but they’re putting them into play.
We are thrilled with it. Make sure you look at it carefully.
