You Can Do This!

You can learn about money. You truly can. This video is a motivational message that needs to be heard. When I help people directly, it’s the first thing I communicate. It’s that important.

 Most people are very intimidated by the world of money. It seems so complex, too complicated for the average individual to grasp. I totally get it, but relax, really. Watch this short video and it will cheer you up, make you feel more confident in your abilities to manage your money better. I promise.

Do you know what a financial plan is? The definition? It’s the proper handling of your assets and cash flow to help you to meet your financial goals. That’s it. Nothing more. How do we arrange things? Not necessarily in an obsessive, compulsive, get everything perfectly right way. But instead, in a common sense, solid manner to get you where you need to go. That’s all we’re trying to do here. Keep that definition of financial planning in mind. It’s actually quite soothing.

Now, I know you’re thinking, “Yes, Dave, that definition is straightforward. But the problem is the expression “proper handing.” I don’t get this stuff. It’s tricky. It requires a lot of specialized knowledge, a lot of time, math skills. I can’t handle this stuff. I’m not wired that way.”

Hey! I’ll admit there are indeed a ton of tricky strategies, complicated investments, highfalutin approaches out there. Many of you probably can’t understand them all, or even a little bit of them. But they almost always fail. They don’t work. Avoid them. Please avoid them.

The good stuff, the approaches that actually do work, they are basic. You absolutely can understand them. Mo gets them for heaven’s sakes. Mo!

The best financial plans I see, the ones that actually work consistently well, they’re incredibly straightforward. So are the investments they use to achieve their objectives. And remember, nobody sees more plans than I do.

You can understand all of this. Just get out of your own way. Open your mind. The basics, and that’s all you need, are actually fun to learn, fun to apply, and of course, fun to benefit from. I promise you, the money concepts you need to grasp, you easily can. Easily. This sounds corny, but believing you can do it is a key part of all of this.
