Tenant Risk — Investor Beware
I’m hearing horror stories almost daily about this subject.

Tenant risk. Wow, am I hearing a lot of horror stories from landlords about tenants who are refusing to pay rent and then refusing to leave. Now, obviously, this type of thing has happened on occasion in the past too, but geez, not to these levels. Now, hey, it’s very tough times for many renters right now.
Inflation is making things exceptionally tight and high rents themselves, of course, are a huge contributing factor to renters’ struggles. Plus, hey, some landlords behave unfairly and poorly. No doubt. But let’s be honest, more and more tenants are learning how to play/game the system. Some of the stories I’m hearing are shocking.
It’s tricky stuff here. Policies have to be fair to all parties. I wouldn’t want to be a politician laying this out. But this issue cannot be ignored by those looking to invest in rental units—must be factored into an investor’s analysis. This is a much bigger story than many realize. I’m hearing it every single day.
