Key Financial Advice for Canadians 55+
I’m imploring you: If you’re nearing retirement you MUST do this one thing. MUST.
Hey, if you’re 55+ or your parents are, please listen to this video. Recently, I have seen two comprehensive plans done for pre-retirees. One plan is from an advice-only advisor. The other was from an advisor who charges a percentage fee based on how much money you have invested with him or her.
These plans were both excellent. Phenomenal. Very thorough. Not just investment plans, but complete financial plans. Estate planning. Tax planning. Insurance planning. Both plans were built on well-thought-through assumptions, both excellent communication. But, beyond the math, it was clear both advisors have put a lot of work into getting to know the clients’ hopes, dreams and fears.
The tax-planning part of these efforts really impressed me and I don’t impress easily. A mix of experience and software resulted in a lot of savings and very solid approaches. Look, there are some really good people out there now. Really good. Find one. I do not believe in DIY retirement planning. Get help.
The one person paid like $4,200 or something like that for this incredible plan that stopped them from making some huge mistakes on the tax-planning and estate-planning fronts. Mistakes that would’ve cost them literally tens of thousands of dollars. No exaggeration. Get on this and do it sooner
than later. And do not ask me to do it. That’s what my friends are always doing. Hey, these top planners have passed me way by. I’m old. And, frankly, not that sharp anymore. As my kids remind me frequently.
